Practice Manager - Registered Architect
Having completed his Bachelor of Design (Architectural Studies) and Masters of Architecture at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Andrew reflects on his time at QUT as living in a dark corner of the design computer labs surviving off Mi Goreng. Inspired by the creative field of architecture, Andrew conquered his university life with leaps and bounds – ‘Anything creative appeals to me, Architecture lets me dip my thumb in many different creative fields’. Influenced by Glenn Murcutt and Mies van der rohe, Andrew is a sucker for simple, clean lines; something that shows in his beautifully composed designs. Being a futuristic thinker, Andrew is excited about the prospects of what 3D printers bring to the architecture field removing constraints of model making, and opening a whole new world ‘our imagination is our limit’.
When not in the office sharing his daily experiences with his great team, you will find Andrew at the Little Greek Taverna in Westend, eating meatballs shortly after one of his regular visits to GOMA. By night, Andrew can be found at the New Farm Park, at the moonlight cinema – ‘you can’t go wrong’. Andrew can be described as ‘cultured’ given the vast amount of travelling he has done around the globe. Andrew’s travels have seen him picking up all kinds of tips and tricks that are housed in iconic and not so iconic buildings around the globe. Sagrada Familia being one building that stuck with Andrew in his journeys, where he stood in awe of the amazing, inspirational structure.
