Simone de Sousa Roque
Having grown up within a family construction business and then going on to complete a diploma of Design studies and graduate at the University of Queensland (UQ) with a Bachelor of Architecture (Honours), Simone has been in the Architectural game since the get go! Simone is passionate about all forms of art and interprets architecture as ‘art in built form’. She loves Tropical Modernism, Minimalist architecture, ‘with seem-less contextual connections, Interior details and materials that add warmth’ and always, an element of surprise. Simone draws her inspiration from the serene, bold use of light and colour seen in the landscape and architecture of Luis Barragan, and Louis Kahn’s minimalist design, pragmatic structural design, intimate contextual planning & refined use of natural materials.
